SKRINIAR: INTER TO OFFER NEW DEAL
Italian football club Inter Milan are preparing to offer Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar a new deal according to the latest reports emanating from the media in Italy.
The new developmentcould be a big transfer blow for the Premier League duo of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur who are long-term admirers of the Inter Milan player.
Skriniar has a little over one year left on his current Inter Milan contract which will expire in the summer and Inter Milan officials have already made the decision to offer him a new contract. The former Sampdoria defender has been one of the key players at Inter Milan as the Italian football giants try to retain their Serie A title this season. Inter Milan would rather sell Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij rather than the aforementioned Skriniar this summer. Just like what's obtainable with Skriniar, Dutch international has an Inter Milan contract that will expire in 2023.
On Skriniar, Italian football outlets La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport have reported that Inter Milan will sit with the representatives of the Slovakian centre back on talks over a new contract. Skriniar will likely see his salary increase with the new deal. Skriniar earns €3.5m on a yearly basis as his salary at Inter Milan and it could increase to €4.5m plus add-ons on a yearly basis.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with a move for Skriniar in the past and they would be forced to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements if the player puts pen to paper on a new deal at Italian football giants Inter Milan. The 27-year-old is happy at the San Siro and also determined to stay beyond his current deal.
If Skriniar signs a new Inter Milan deal, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte could turn his attention to De Vrij who’s the transfer alternative to Skriniar.
