DANILO OFFERED NEW JUVENTUS CONTRACT
Brazilian defender Danilo has been offered a new contract at Italian football club Juventus according to the latest news emanating from Italy. The utility defensive player is said to have been given a two-year contract extension to take his time with Juventus until the 2025/26 season.
His present contract with the Old Lady will expire in the summer of 2024.
Danilo recently confessed in an interview that he has rediscovered the joy of football since moving to Italian football from Premier League heavyweights Manchester City.
Brazil international Danilo has been a versatile player for Maximiliano Allegri since he returned to the club for his second spell last summer. He has played right-back, left-back, midfield and central defenceat his Italian football club this season.
Juventus signed Danilo from English champions Manchester City in the summer of 2019 in a €37m deal and he has grown to be a leader at the club. He’s a fan favourite in Turin due to his work-rate and leadership skills. Danilo endeared himself more to the Juventus fans earlier this year when he scored a late equaliser against Atalanta to ensure that the Italian football game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The new contract offer for Danilo from Italian football giants Juventus was revealed by Sport Mediaset. Danilo has a return of one goal and two assists in 22 games in all competitions for the Old Lady this season. Apart from Manchester City and Juventus, 30-year-old Danilo has also played for FC Porto, America MG, Real Madrid and Santos.
Danilo is expected to make appearance number 23 for Juventus this season when they take on Spanish La Liga team Villarreal at home in the second leg of their round of 16. The second leg in Turin will take place on Wednesday night with all to play for after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw in Spain.
