LAZIO WANT €50M FOR LUIS ALBERTO
Italian football side Lazio have slapped a €50m asking price on Luis Alberto if the Spanish midfielder wants to leave the club when the January transfer window reopens in the coming weeks amidst reports of a breakdown in his relationship with manager Maurizio Sarri.
Luis Alberto fuelledreports of a strain in his relationship with Sarri when he liked an anti-Sarri message on social media.
Since Sarri returned to the top of Italian football this summer to take charge of Lazio, Luis Alberto has scored one goal and provided four assists in eight games in the Italian Serie A. The one-cap Spanish international has worn the captain's armband at Lazio this season in the absence of star striker Ciro Immobile.
29-year-old Luis Alberto signed for Italian football side Lazio in August 2016. The Spaniard joined Lazio from Premier League outfit Liverpool and he has been pushing for a move away from the capital club in recent weeks as revealed by Italian publication Calciomercato. It was disclosed that his agent is exploring the possibility of leaving in the winter transfer window at the start of next year.
Luis Alberto has always had an interesting relationship with the Lazio fans and he has a contract that runs out in June 2025. To this effect, Lazio are said to be holding out for as much as €50m for him to leave the club.
Inter Milan could be the next club for Luis Alberto as manager Simone Inzaghi is a big fan of the player. The Spaniard was an important player for Inzaghi during his time as the Lazio manager. He left Lazio to take the Inter Milan job in the summer. Apart from Inter Milan, AC Milan are also said to be interested in Luis Alberto. Both Milan clubs are unlikely to pay the €50m asking price from Lazio for the player.
