Inter Milan chief Beppe Marotta wants consistency in terms of results
Inter Milan chief Beppe Marotta has said that the Nerazzurri need to exhibit consistency with the results in order to return to the Champions League next term. The San Siro outfit were holding a nine-point advantage over the teams below the top four at one stage of the season but that has been reduced to just three amid the inconsistent results since the turn of the year.
Speaking to reporters, Marotte has cited the importance of finding the consistency with the results with the likes of AC Milan and Roma behind them in a good run of form, he said: “It’s important to achieve consistency in terms of our results. It’s only normal that from here until the end of the season, every team aiming for the Champions League will be fighting for points. We are focused on the final stage of the season.
Everyone must give their all and Perisic’s recent performances can be viewed in this light. I can’t give any indications on the summer transfer market.”
“The Nerazzurri had gone through a tough beginning after the winter“ break with four winless matches, although they managed to overturn the same by winning the next four games. However, that has not entirely ended the recent habit and they could only muster a 3-3 draw against Fiorentina “over the weekend despite“ being 3-1 up at one stage.
Inter’s next outing comes against Cagliari on the road and the game has now become a must-win or else they could drop outside of the top four for the first time since September. Inter are currently third in the league standings but they have just a two-point advantage over cross-town rivals AC Milan behind them. Roma, who have consistently qualified for the Champions League, are a further one point adrift of the Rossoneri on the table.
