Antonio Conte says he has no concerns with the Inter Milan hierarchy
Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has indicated that he has no concerns with the Inter Milan hierarchy despite his outburst following the midweek Champions League defeat at Borussia Dortmund. The Nerazzurri had a two-goal lead over the Bundesliga side on Tuesday night but they squandered the advantage to suffer a 3-2 defeat.
Owing to that result, they find themselves in the need to win both of their remaining games against Barcelona and Slavia Prague and that contributed to the frustration for Conte, who blamed the Nerazzurri board for the poor planning with the squad. However, when asked about the same this afternoon, Conte has dismissed any differences with the board but stated that the club should have done better in the summer transfer market.
“Honestly, you saw my words as an outburst, but I saw it as a constructive way of trying to figure out that mistakes were made without directing it at anyone specifically and to make it clear that we can and must do better because we are Inter. When we are in private the management are the first to recognise some things could have been done better at the beginning of the season. I see absolutely no problems with the management because we share the same train of thought,” he told.
The Nerazzurri have gone head-to-head with Juventus during the opening months of the campaign but they are currently one point behind the Serie A holders. They are scheduled to face Hellas Verona during the forthcoming league game at home and the fans will be expectant of a strong response from the team after the recent demise at Dortmund.
In the same matchday, Juventus are scheduled to face AC Milan at home and that remains a tricky prospect for them despite the Rossoneri’s poor league form. The Rossoneri are at the backend of the league standings and they are already eight points behind Lazio, who are occupying the final Champions League spot.
