Henrikh Mkhitaryan uncertain on Arsenal future

Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan has said that he is unsure regarding his Arsenal future following his loan move to AS Roma. The 30-year-old joined the Giallorossi on loan prior to the European transfer deadline but the deal does not include the option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Speaking to VBET News, Mkhitaryan said that he is focused on the job ahead with the Giallorossi and he cannot predict his future beyond the current campaign, he told: “Let's first see what I can do in Roma. At the end of the season I think we can talk if I will have the possibility to stay or to go to something else, I don't know. Now, I cannot say about future, it's better to be focused on the next games."

Mkhitaryan joined the Gunners as part of the swap agreement which saw Alexis Sanchez make the move to Manchester United last year. During his 19-month spell with the club, he was able to provide a few standout performances but those were combined with a number of mediocre displays which had triggered frustration from the club’s faithful.

The Armenian made three appearances for the Gunners at the start of the campaign but none of them were convincing as he was regularly dispossessed. As such, the move to Roma was for the betterment of both the club and the player and it remains to be seen whether Mkhitaryan can transform his fortunes with the Italian outfit.

Arsenal have made a decent beginning to the current season and they have accumulated seven points from four matches. That tally sees them outside of the top four on goal difference but they have a good chance of making the top four at the end of the season, considering both Manchester United and Chelsea have looked off-colour with their displays this term.
